The Victorian period produced some of the most detailed, unapologetically decorative furniture ever made — rolled arms, deep button work, carved crests, curved legs. The Royal Victorian Carved Luxury Set takes that language and rebuilds it for a modern living room, without losing what made it distinctive in the first place.
The carving does the talking
This set doesn’t rely on colour or scale to make an impression — it relies on detail. Our carvers shape each crest rail and leg by hand, following the flowing, curved patterns typical of Victorian woodwork rather than the straighter lines of more contemporary carved furniture. It’s a slower, more deliberate style of carving, and it shows in the finished piece.
Structure underneath the style
Ornate furniture only stays ornate if the frame underneath is solid, so this set is built on seasoned hardwood, joined properly rather than glued for speed. The curved legs and rolled arms that define the Victorian look are shaped from the same solid stock as the rest of the frame — not applied as decoration afterward — which is why they hold their form under regular use.
Upholstery with depth
The fabric work leans into the period it’s inspired by: deep button tufting, rolled bolster-style arms, and a fuller, rounder cushion profile than you’d find on a straight-lined modern sofa. It’s a fuller, more indulgent sit — closer to a lounge than a bench seat.
A quick look at the build

Not a reproduction — a reinterpretation
We haven’t copied an antique catalogue. The proportions here are adjusted for how people actually sit and how modern living rooms are actually laid out, while keeping the carving and silhouette true to the Victorian style people recognise and still love.
Made by Gulzar Sons Furniture
This set comes out of the same workshop where all our carved furniture is made — by hand, checked piece by piece, with no shortcuts taken on the joinery just because the decoration is elaborate. If you want a specific fabric or a size adjustment, that’s a conversation we’re used to having.
